Fresh Kieran Tierney update emerges ahead of Watford, when Granit Xhaka could return to training revealed
Arsenal vs Watford
Arsenal are back in Premier League action this coming Sunday.
The Gunners are set to face off with Watford at 2 pm UK time.
Mikel Arteta’s side head into the game on a fine run of form which sees them on a seven-game unbeaten run in the Premier League – winning five and drawing two.
This fine run, on the back of a three-game losing streak, means Arsenal head into the weekend’s action sat 6th in the PL.
But with 5th-place Manchester United set to take on Manchester City this weekend, there is a good chance the Gunners could overtake them with a win against Watford.
Watford have so far had a mixed stint under Claudio Ranieri. They would be smashed 5-0 by Liverpool before then beating Everton 5-2 and then losing to Southampton last weekend.
As a result, Arsenal do look set to be the favourites for this clash.
Tierney & Xhaka updates
Ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta would speak to the press on Friday. When doing so, the Spaniard provided updates on Kieran Tierney and Granit Xhaka.
Tierney has missed Arsenal’s last several outings but looks as though he could be available on Sunday.
Xhaka, on the other hand, is said to be aiming to be back in full training early in January of 2022.
Kieran Tierney has done “bits with the team” but is yet to train fully. “He is being assessed ahead of Sunday’s match,” but I suspect Nuno Tavares will keep his place at left-back. Xhaka is “making good progress” and aims to be back in full training early in the New Year. #AFC

This would, of course, come as a big boost to Arsenal who are set to lose Thomas Partey from January 9th for the African Cup of Nations.
