Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek delivers verdict on Thomas Tuchel
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recently offered his verdict on current manager, Thomas Tuchel.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s revival
After a fairly underwhelming 2020/21 on loan at now Championship outfit Fulham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s Chelsea career looked to be dead in the water.
Now 25, Loftus-Cheek could not really be considered a prospect anymore. And with Chelsea signing Saul Niguez over the summer, there did not look to be any room in Thomas Tuchel’s midfield.
The German only deploys two central midfielders most of the time, which looked set to mean N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Saul took up those roles.
And with both Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour now the up-and-coming midfield stars, RLC did not look as though he would be seeing any sort of regular football if he stayed at the Bridge.
Despite this, the Englishman has continued to work hard and has been rewarded with nine appearances for Chelsea already this term.
Granted, he does not start in the big ties, but Loftus-Cheek has still proven himself to be a very useful asset for Chelsea this term – much more so than Saul.
Loftus-Cheek on Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel
Now, ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Burnley, Loftus-Cheek has offered his verdict on Thomas Tuchel.
When discussing the German, Loftus-Cheek labelled him a fantastic manager who knows his stuff:
“We have some talks about my game and he’s a manager who always wants to help you. He’s always trying to give me tips on how to get better.
“He’s a fantastic manager and he knows his stuff so I’m in a good place to listen to him and develop that way.”
