Why Newcastle’s move for Eddie Howe could be set to collapse
Newcastle’s search for a Steve Bruce replacement appears to have taken another twist on Saturday.
Eddie Howe linked with Newcastle job
Following the sacking of Steve Bruce, former Arsenal boss Unai Emery appeared to emerge as a favourite to take over the North East outfit:

That was, however, until Emery himself released a statement to turn down the job and express his love for current side, Villarreal:

Then, in more recent days, ex-Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe would emerge as a leading candidate to take over at St James’ Park.
Howe deal in doubt?
Now though, it appears as though the possibility of Howe taking over at Newcastle is also seemingly in doubt.
According to the Mirror:
Newcastle United are in danger of seeing their deal to land Eddie Howe disintegrate.
The report provided some further insight into why the deal could collapse, stating that Howe has failed to secure a deal for his back-room staff to follow him to St James’s Park.
And with Newcastle’s owners understood to be ready to stand their ground in negotiations, this leaves Howe in the position of considering whether to press ahead in actually taking the job:
