Watford’s new manager pictured arriving at the training ground with announcement imminent
Watford part ways with Xisco Munoz
Following a 1-0 defeat to Leeds United on Saturday, Watford announced that they had decided to part ways with their current boss Xisco Munoz, the man who oversaw their promotion to the top flight, ahead of the international break.

The defeat for the newly-promoted side means that they have won just 1 of their last 5 games, and have taken 7 points from a possible 21 on offer thus far, leaving them in fourteenth place.
As such, the board felt like they needed to intervene, with a social media post reading:
The Board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving.
The Hornets will always be grateful to Xisco for the part he played in securing last season’s promotion and wish him well for his future career in football.
No further club comment will be available until the imminent announcement of a new Head Coach.

New manager pictured arriving at Watford
Now, just 24 hours on from the announcement, a new Hornets manager is imminent, as ex-Leicester, Chelsea and Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri is set to take the reigns in London.
Indeed, the Italian has been pictured arriving at the club’s training ground ahead of a potential announcement.

Watford fans will be hoping that Ranieri’s time in charge is more akin to the title win at Leicester City as opposed to the relegation that he suffered with Fulham in 2019, although with tricky fixtures ahead, it remains to be seen how he begins his tenure.
