Manchester United’s stance on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed
Man United’s struggles
Manchester United’s last outing saw them held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at Old Trafford.
This came after their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League the weekend prior.
Before this, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. would be knocked out of the League Cup vs West Ham, with the FA Cup now looking to be United’s only realistic shot at a trophy this season.
Elsewhere, Man United suffered a humiliating loss to Young Boys in the Champions League and were less than convincing when they beat West Ham in the league and Villarreal in the Champions League.
The Red Devils must now face a pretty horrid run of fixtures after the international break, which sees them take on most of the top sides in the PL.
Man United’s stance on Solskjaer
On the back of Man United’s draw with Everton, the hashtag OleOutNow would trend on social media:

This is not too surprising given United’s recent results and some of their pretty poor performances even when winning.
However, though Man United fans seem to want Solskjaer out, the stance of Man United’s board appears to be far from that.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano would provide an update on Solskjaer’s situation on Sunday evening, reporting that nothing has changed regarding Man United’s position on Ole:
“What is the position of the club? From what I am told, nothing has changed as of now from Manchester United. They have no panic they know that Solskjaer will need some time to improve the team, to improve the identity, to start and rebuild the identity with Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s a fantastic player, fantastic champion, but is really changing the idea of the team so this is why they need to adapt to Cristiano Ronaldo as the new key player.
“They are showing him confidence. Of course, they’re expecting something different, in particular in Premier League because the Champions League winning with Villarreal changing the group situation in a positive way for Manchester United.”
Romano later adds that Man United are not looking to replace Solskjaer and there has been no contact with other managers as they are still thinking of the Norwegian as the right man for the project:
“Of course everyone in the club is expecting something different in the coming weeks. They want a team to win some games in a row for Manchester United to change their table with many and many teams involved in the title race this season. But for Solskjaer, from Manchester United, they are not looking to replace him, there is nothing at the moment, like contacts with other managers. If the situation will be worse in the coming weeks, of course, maybe the discussion can change. But as of now, they’re not planning to appoint a new manager they are still thinking of Solskjaer as the right man for this project for this season. And so, from Manchester United’s board, they’re showing all the confidence to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.”
