Liverpool’s Mo Salah sends title warning to Premier League rivals following Man City draw

The final Premier League fixture before the dreaded international break played out on Sunday evening.

The game would pit Liverpool against Manchester City at Anfield. The Reds headed into the match unbeaten in all competitions this season, but were dominated for large stretches by Pep Guardiola’s side.

Despite this, Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool on the day:

Phil Foden then equalised for Man City after 69 minutes.

Liverpool probably should have gone down to 10 men late on when James Milner fouled Bernardo Silva for what looked a clear second yellow.

Milner, however, stayed on the pitch, and went on to play a role in the hosts’ second goal of the day – a stunning strike from Mohamed Salah.

But Salah’s effort was soon cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne, with the final whistle eventually sounding with the score at 2-2.

Salah’s title warning

Following the draw with Man City, Liverpool head into the international break sat 2^nd in the Premier League table.

The Reds remain the only unbeaten side in the league this year, but three draws from seven have allowed Chelsea – who beat Southampton at the weekend – to claim top spot for at least the next week and a bit.

Liverpool, though, do boast the best attack in the English top-flight at present and, along with Chelsea and Manchester City, are likely to be battling it out for the title until May.

Now, following Liverpool’s draw on Sunday, Mo Salah has taken to Instagram to send a title warning to Liverpool’s Premier League rivals, with the Egyptian stating that Liverpool are going for the title and have what it takes:

We really wanted to win this one but we’re still in the game. We’re going for the title and we have what it takes.
