Manchester United’s Raphael Varane gives verdict on Premier League experience so far

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has given his verdict on his Premier League experience to date following his switch from Real Madrid over the summer

Raphael Varane joins Manchester United from Real Madrid

Raphael Varane was one of three major Manchester United signings over the summer.

The Frenchman has signed a deal with the Man outfit that will keep him at the club until 2025:

Varane, 28, is believed to have set the Red Devils back an initial £34m.

Varane’s Premier League stint so far

Varane would be unveiled as a Man United player ahead of the Red Devils’ first league game of the season, which saw them smash Leeds United 5-1.

The Frenchman was then an unused sub for United in their following league clash vs Southampton.

Since then, though, Varane has become a key fixture in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backline.

Varane has featured in both of United’s Champions League ties this campaign and, since being benched vs Southampton, has completed every minute of Premier League action for the Manchester outfit.

In said games, Man United have won three, drawn one, lost one and kept just one clean sheet, which was against Wolves in Varane’s first PL match.

And now, the centre-back has offered his verdict on his Premier League experience so far, stating that he is taking pleasure in going out of his comfort zone and that it is a different way of defending, which he finds super interesting:

“I’m taking pleasure in playing, going out of my comfort zone, finding new bearing with my teammates.

“It’s a different way of defending and it’s super interesting for me.”
