“He’s a freak physcially” Jack Wilshere heaps praise on West Ham star

Jack Wilshere’s West Ham stint

Joining West Ham on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2018, Jack Wilshere spent two seasons with the Hammers.

Despite this, injuries and form limited the former young star to just 19 appearances, totalling 837 minutes on the pitch, of which only nine saw him named in the starting XI. Just a solitary goal and one assist capped what proved to be a difficult and disappointing time in the Englishman’s career.

Now back training with Arsenal, although not part of Mikel Arteta’s squad, Wilshere is hoping for a change in fortunes and. more importantly, a club come January, with the midfielder still just 29 years old and having been robbed of much of his career through injury.

It is safe to say that he still keeps tabs on his friends at West Ham though.

Wilshere singles out Declan Rice for praise

One of the more coveted players David Moyes has at his disposal is Declan Rice. Valued at 63 million pounds by Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old has been subect of interest from both Manchester United and Chelsea in previous summers.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Wilshere didn’t hold back on his praise for his one-time teammate, saying:

“He has got better every year. He had a really good Euros, like he was one of England’s best players and he has taken that into this season.

“Technically, he’s so good. When he gets into them positions, whether it’s his left foot or right foot, he’s got the opportunity to score because he can use both feet just as good.

“And he’s so fit. There’s not a problem with him getting into the box and then recovering into that defensive position because he’s a freak physically, he can do anything.”

If Wilshere’s endorsement is anything to go by, clubs will continue to queue up for the England international this summer, as they look to solve their midfield problems.
