47 Years Ago, This No. 1 Queen Song Inspired by Elvis Presley Became One of the Band’s Biggest Hits
Queenis one of the few bands that have too many hits to count. Almost every single album has at least one hit song that people instantly recognize, and the 1980 album The Game has two of Queen's most recognizable songs: "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." The latter, written by Freddie Mercury, might be the fastest No. 1 hit ever written. The singer managed to capture the spirit of the simple and fun 1950s rock 'n roll and brought it to the 1980s. Mercury's voice and approach to the song are different from most of his other compositions, and the reason for that is that his inspiration for the song was none other than The King himself.
