Video: Xavi watches on as Barcelona B run riot, but fresh photo of injured Ansu Fati will set alarm bells ringing

Incoming FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez was in attendance this evening, as the club’s B-team cruised to a comfortable victory.

Akhomach leads rout

The Blaugrana’s latest crop of up-and-coming talent were back in action a short time ago.

In their latest Segunda Division B outing, Barca welcomed Sevilla Atletico to the Estadi Johan Cruyff, aiming to build on a 2-1 downing of Linares Deportivo last time out.

And, when all was said and done on Saturday, make it two wins from two is precisely what the hosts managed.

A dominant display ultimately culminated in Barcelona running out 4-0 winners, courtesy of strikes from all of Ilias Akhomach (2), Rodado and Jutglà.

And such efforts will no doubt have been much appreciated by one of those in attendance at the Catalunya clash.

The man in question? Xavi Hernandez.

As showcased below, Xavi, of course confirmed as Ronald Koeman’s replacement at the Camp Nou late on Friday night, watched on from the stands at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, getting an early glimpse at the impressive young talent on the Blaugrana’s books alongside Mateu Alemany:

Ansu latest

News of a considerably less positive nature, however, was too forthcoming for Barca’s new boss on Saturday evening.

The club’s first-team squad were of course back in action earlier today, too, making the trip to the Estadio de Balaidos for a La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.

A bizarre 90 minutes, during which the visitors raced into a 3-goal advantage, ultimately saw Barcelona pegged back courtesy of a last-gasp Iago Aspas equaliser:

And, on the back of the action coming to a close in the northwest of Spain, concerning updates surrounding the Blaugrana setup have since only continued to spread.

As showcased below, Ansu Fati, one of three players to have limped out of the Celta clash, has been spotted on crutches on Saturday night:
