Rafa Benitez confirms Everton will be without four players vs Tottenham, provides update on Lucas Digne
Everton vs Tottenham
One of three Premier League ties taking place on Sunday at 2 pm UK time will see Everton play host to Tottenham.
Everton had an excellent start to the season under Rafa Benitez and, at one point, looked as though they could be set to challenge for a place in the top-seven this campaign.
However, things have dipped off in a major way for the Toffees over the last several weeks.
After winning four of their first six league games of 2021/22, Everton are now winless in their last four outings – losing three and drawing one.
The Merseysiders would lose 1-0 to West Ham, concede a staggering five goals to a struggling Watford and then, on Monday, lose 2-1 at the hands of Wolves.
As for Tottenham, they will have new boss Antonio Conte in the dugout for the second time. But, as shown in the Vitesse clash on Thursday, the Italian still has a lot of work to do with that side.
So, Everton could still get something out of the game if they tighten up their backline.
Rafa Benitez on Everton team news
Ahead of the game, Rafa Benitez would hold his latest pre-match press conference on Friday.
During the presser, the Spaniard would provide a team news update on his side.
In positive news for the Toffees, Rafa confirmed that Lucas Digne could be available for the weekend. However, all of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Andres Gomes, Yerry Mina and Abdoulaye Doucoure are set to miss out:
🤕 | “@LucasDigne is fine, he’s been training so hopefully he will be available [for #EVETOT].”
