Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool trio will miss West Ham clash
West Ham vs Liverpool
The final Premier League clash before the November international break will see West Ham and Liverpool face off at the London Stadium.
Both sides have had very solid starts to the season and it is expected to be a close, enthralling affair with either outfit likely in with a decent chance of getting something from the game.
Liverpool begin the weekend’s action sat 2nd in the Premier League table. The Reds are currently the only side still unbeaten in the English top-flight this term, but four draws from 10 has seen Chelsea take top spot from them.
As for West Ham, they are, for the most part, coping well with a hectic European schedule and once again look on course for a top-seven finish this campaign.
The Hammers will begin gameweek 11 4th in the Premier League table, level on points with Manchester City and just two points behind Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp on Firmino, Gomez & Jones
Ahead of the West Ham game, Jurgen Klopp would speak to Liverpool’s official media on Friday.
When doing so, Jurgen Klopp provided a team news update. The Merseysiders have had some issues in central midfield this term, whilst Roberto Firmino also picked up a problem when Liverpool faced Atletico Madrid earlier this week.
And when speaking ahead of West Ham, Klopp confirmed that Firmino suffered a serious hamstring injury vs Atletico and will be out until after the international break, which starts after this weekend’s games:
“Bobby is not good news with a serious hamstring injury, really unfortunate. We don’t know exactly how long he will be out but it will be not now after the international break directly. We have to work on that.”
Elsewhere, Klopp provided an update on both Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez, both of whom also look set to miss out against West Ham:
“Curtis is a completely different story [to Firmino], he was very unlucky in training – he got a finger that scratched the eye. I had a lot of injuries to players in my career, that was not involved. He is on the way back but we have to see how long exactly.
“He will be back after the international break, for sure, but in the international break we have to see when he can start doing proper stuff again.
“And Joey, hopefully after the international break as well.”
Roberto Firmino sustained a serious hamstring injury during our win over Atletico Madrid, Jürgen Klopp has confirmed.
