Newcastle line up Bayern Munich star as first signing of transfer revolution

Newcastle remain managerless

Newcastle parted ways with Steve Bruce two weeks ago, as the new owners sought to put their own stamp on ongoings at the club.

However, they have so far been unsuccessful in finding a replacement, despite a long and public search.

Unai Emery was set to be the Magpie’s first choice for the job, but the former Arsenal boss came out yesterday to reveal that he had turned down the job in favour of staying with current side Villareal, with whom he won the Europa League in May.

As such, it seems very much a return to the drawing board on the managerial side of things, which could see caretaker Graeme Jones remain in charge for Saturday’s clash with Brighton.

New transfer target emerges

This has not seemingly stopped their transfer plans, however, with ideas for strengthening the squad still swirling around despite the hole that exists at managerial level.

As per transfer journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich defender Nicolas Sule is the latest man on their radar. Seemingly laughable at first given the relative stature of the clubs, Falk reveals that “The Newcastle United project interests him”, and that he has no issue with the fact that they wouldn’t be in Europe.

The 26 year old is out of contract this summer, and has of yet seen no attempts to extend his current deal, meaning that he could walk away for nothing in the Summer. For the Magpies, it would represent a massive coup and a huge statement if they could snag a defender once linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.
