New Tottenham boss Antonio Conte outlines his coaching philosophy & explains why he turned down Spurs in the summer
Tottenham appoint Antonio Conte
Tottenham would sack Nuno Espirito Santo on the back of an unspectacular start to 2021/22 which had seen Spurs struggle for goals and, most recently, lose 3-0 to a struggling Manchester United side.
After sacking Nuno, Spurs took just over a day to officially announce that Antonio Conte would be their new boss.
Conte has joined the club on a deal that will initially run until 2023, but there is an option to extend it.

Conte has previously won the Premier League and Serie A with Chelsea and Inter Milan are there is an expectation that he will be the man to end Spurs’ trophy drought.
Conte outlines his coaching philosophy
Now, following his appointment on Tuesday, Conte has conducted his first interview since he joined the club.
Conte would discuss a number of topics in his interview, including his coaching philosophy, which he claims is to play good, attractive football:
“My coaching philosophy is very simple – to play good football, attractive football, with passion, for our fans. To have a stable team, not up and down.
“I think that the fans deserve to have a competitive team with a will to fight. We will do everything to deserve their support.”
Attractive football is not something Spurs saw too much of under Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo, so Conte’s comments will likely be music to their ears.
Elsewhere, Conte spoke about why he didn’t take the Spurs job in the summer:
“There was a call from Tottenham in the summer but I was very clear, I had just finished two very tough seasons with Inter Milan and honestly it wasn’t the right time to start again another experience. I preferred to wait and enjoy the time with my family. Also emotionally I was still at the last experience with Inter.”
