Luis Enrique speaks out on Manchester United links after Solskjaer’s departure
Cristiano Ronaldo wants Luis Enrique
The news that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was relieved of his Manchester United duties broke this morning, prompting speculation about a whole range of potential replacements to take the Old Trafford hotseat.

After a 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, the hierarchy decided that it was too poor a result and run of results for the club to sustain the current managerial setup, and that change had to be made.
Now, as per Sky Sports, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen for Luis Enrique, former Barcelona and current Spain boss, to take the role, and has recommended him to the hierarchy.

However, this may not be the case.
Enrique speaks out on links
Speaking to Spanish media earlier today, Enrique was quizzed on the prospect, and was quick to downplay the links. Enrique quipped:
Is it April fools day today?
Asked whether he would want to go to a club as big as Manchester United, he was quick to point out his current role too, saying:
“I’m already in the biggest team in Spain with 5,000 players.”
It seems as though Ronaldo may not get his wish after all, with Enrique reiterating that he is happy to be where he is now, and with a World Cup in exactly 12 months, it would be an odd time to jump ship.

With Enrique seemingly staying put, where should Manchester United turn?
