Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold speaks out on his evolving partnership with Mohamed Salah

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has recently opened up on his partnership with Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool’s right-hand side

One of Liverpool’s biggest strengths this season has been the right-hand side of their attack.

Before Harvey Elliott was injured, the young midfielder was slotting in very nicely in that right central midfield spot, often interchanging with Mohamed Salah on the right flank to create space via free-flowing, attacking moves.

Of course, Elliott has since been sidelined, but Liverpool’s right side has continued to be their most lethal thanks to play from Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold on partnership with Salah

Salah and Trent are having superb seasons and often play key roles in creating each other’s goal contributions.

Salah has scored a staggering 15 goals and provided six assists in just 15 ties across all competitions this term, whilst Alexander-Arnold has scored one and assisted seven in 12.

Now, Alexander-Arnold has been speaking out on his partnership with Salah:

“We’ve always had a good connection and understanding, but it’s definitely evolved.

“The first couple of years it was more about playing in behind and him using his speed, whereas now it’s more intricate play, and we can still play in behind as well.

“Both of us want to create things and want to score goals, assist, win games, be influential on the game, and I think the level of quality we’re showing on the right side this season is working well for the team. So, it’s just about getting the service into him, into me, and working with it.”
