Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana drops hint over potential Chelsea move
Chelsea in the market for a defender
It is common knowledge that Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel have been in the market for a centre back across the past six months.
A move for Jules Kounde fell through in the dying embers of the summer window and, despite the emergence of Trevor Chalobah, as it stands four senior defenders (Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva) are set to see their contracts expire in the summer.
🗣 @Matt_Law_DT on Antonio Rüdiger’s contract situation:
“There’s not been any progress [since the last update]. The key time is going to be in January when foreign clubs can talk to him. If those offers don’t arrive, then the situation flips on him.”

As such, reports have emerged that the London club have “revived” their interest in Wesley Fofana, who is currently recovering from an injury suffered against Villareal in pre-season, but has marked the end of December as his target return date.

Fofana drops Chelsea hint
And, despite his apparent happiness with the Foxes, Fofana has dropped a hint that Chelsea would prove a very appealing prospect to him,
Speaking on TwitterSpaces yesterday, the French youngster was quizzed on which clubs he dreams of playing for, and listed Chelsea alongside several other sides, including both Manchester Clubs.
Wesley Fofana on clubs that he dreams of:
“There is Marseille, Real Madrid, Barcelona. In the Premier League, Chelsea, Man United, Man City… but you have to work to achieve your dreams. Through work, you can succeed in it all.” (Spaces/Actufoot)

Given that the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal were not mentioned, for instance, can Chelsea fans get their man and will Fofana push for a move should it materialise?
