Former Chelsea boss the new favourite for the vacant Norwich City job

Norwich record first win of the season

Norwich City took a minuscule step towards Premier League safety yesterday with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Brentford, picking up their first three points in the process.

The Canaries came out swinging, and took an early 2-0 lead courtesy of a penalty from Teemu Pukki and a goal from summer signing Mathias Normann, before Rico Henry pulled one back for the visitors.

Norwich, however, held on, and took a much needed three points which means as things stand, they are only 5 points from safety.

However, in a bizarre turn of events, the East Anglian outfit announced that they had departed ways with manager Daniel Farke, just hours after their first win of the season

Over the course of the season thus far, the sacking is completely understandable, but hours after picking up their first win of the season? The timing seemed a little confusing.

Frank Lampard a surprise favourite for the role

Understandably, media speculation has already begun swirling over who could replace the German at the helm of Norwich City, and the bookies have made one former Chelsea man the early favourite for the job.

The man in question? Frank Lampard.

The Chelsea legend (and former manager) has been out of work since he was replaced in the dugout at Stamford Bridge by Thomas Tuchel in January of this year, and as per Football.London, Skybet have slashed the odds of the London man to just 6/4, well ahead of second-placed Russell Martin at 6/1.

Will we see Frank return to Premier League management soon?
