Everton dealt injury blow during Manchester City clash
Everton have been dealt a blow on the personnel front during their meeting with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester City vs Everton
Sunday’s early Premier League kick-off would see Manchester City play host to Everton.
The Sky Blues headed into the game having slipped down to 3rd in the Premier League following results elsewhere on Saturday.
However, Pep Guardiola and co. would move back up to 2nd and to within three points of Chelsea with a win against the Toffees, which did seem likely ahead of kick-off given Everton’s recent poor form that has seen them slip into the bottom half of the table.
And Manchester City would start the tie on top, though they have been unable to break the deadlock at the time of writing.
Everton’s Demarai Gray injured vs Everton
But whilst Everton have been able to hold their own so far against City, the Merseysiders have been dealt a blow during the clash.
Said blow came when Demarai Gray pulled up after 17 minutes and had to be replaced by Alex Iwobi:

Gray has been one of Everton’s better players so far this term and losing him for any amount of time would be a big blow for Rafa Benitez and co. – especially given they also have key stars Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure currently sidelined with injuries.
Everton’s next clash comes this time next week against Brentford, with the club no doubt praying Gray is back for that game.
