Chelsea blow? PSG open discussions with Antonio Rudiger’s agent

PSG are showing an interest in Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, according to reports stemming from France.

Antonio Rudiger has become arguably Chelsea’s best central defender under Thomas Tuchel.

This marks a stark contrast from the first half of 2020/21, when the stopper had fallen massively out of favour under Frank Lampard.

Despite his return to favour, though, Rudiger’s long-term future at Chelsea has remained up in the air for some time now.

This comes with the German having less than a year remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge.

In August, Rudiger provided an update on his situation, and it looked like good news for the Chelsea faithful, as the former Roma man confirmed that he had opened talks over extending his deal.

However, we have heard very little when it comes to developments since, despite Rudiger remaining an integral part of Chelsea’s set-up.

Now, with less than eight months of his current contract to run, the German’s future has once again been drawn into question.

Should January 1^st come round and Rudiger not have signed a new Chelsea deal, he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club from this date.

One club that may seemingly be keen on this is French powerhouse, PSG.

The Parisian outfit were linked with Rudiger back at the start of the 2020/21 season when he was out of favour under Frank Lampard.

And now, football.london citing reports stemming from France, suggest that PSG are back in for the defender once again.

It is reported that PSG have now opened talks to bring Antonio Rudiger to the Parc des Princes next summer and that they are in touch with the player’s agent. It is added that discussions are already underway between the PSG and Sahr Senesie – Rudiger’s representative in the talks.
