Arsenal thought to be keen on bringing Unai Emery star to the Emirates this summer

Arsenal need attacking reinforcements

While Arsenal added six new players in the summer, largely to the spine of their side, they still seem a little light in forward areas.

Gabriel Martinelli does not seem to have the trust of manager Arsene Wenger, while Nicolas Pepe has failed to set the world alight following his 72 million pound move in 2019, and will be down to the last two years of his contract come the summer.

To make matters even more complicated, Alexandre Lacazette is out of contract in the summer, and has shown little sign of signing an extension, meaning that the Gunners will need to bring in forward replacements.

Arteta and co. are seemingly keen on another winger too, with links to Noa Lang in the past, an exciting Club Brugge prospect.

However, the latest links are to another exciting winger, this time over in Spain.

Arsenal to test Unai Emery’s resolve for Yeremy Pino?

As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Mikel Arteta has specifically requested that the club explore a deal for Yeremy Pino, an exciting Spaniard currently playing for Unai Emery’s Villareal side.

Arsenal fans will be familiar with the youngster, who came on in both legs of their Europa League semi final defeat to the Yellow Submarine last season, and who has begun this campaign well. So far, the Spaniard has netted 2 goals and provided 3 assists for his side in La Liga and the Champions League, and at only 19, appears to have a bright future ahead of him.

However, the major caveat to any deal is that Pino seems likely to sign a new deal in Spain, which would remove the release clause, thought to stand at 35 million euros, for a much larger one.

As per reports, the new release clause would sit at 80 million euros, a far less manageable sum. However, if Arteta is set on Pino as his man, he may be forced to cough up.
