‘What is his plan?’: Father of former Man United star hits out at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Man United’s struggles

Manchester United’s last outing saw them held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at Old Trafford.

This came after a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League the weekend prior.

Before this, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. would be knocked out of the League Cup by West Ham, with the FA Cup now looking like the Red Devils’ only realistic shot at a trophy this season.

Elsewhere, Man United suffered a humiliating loss to Young Boys in the Champions League, and were less than convincing in beating West Ham and Villarreal in the Premier League and Champions League respectively.

Not only that, but the Reds face a pretty horrid run of fixtures after the international break, which will see them take on most of the top sides in England.

Blind hits out at Solskjaer

Now, after what has been a fairly underwhelming start to the season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come in for criticism.

Danny Blind, father of former Manchester United and now Ajax star Daley Blind, has hit out at Solskjaer and questioned Man United’s identity.

Blind also claimed that Solskjaer has no tactical plan and that his team are unable to put pressure on opponents like Manchester City:

“What is the identity of this Manchester United team? What is his plan?

“It is exactly that what is missing with Solskjaer. There is not a tactical plan. His team are not able to put pressure on their opponents like Manchester City.

“It does not always have to be full pressing but we don’t see any of it – everything in the United team is based on the individual qualities of players.

“They have those qualities and it often gets a result for the team. But it is never a team result. It has not been looking good in a number of matches. United struggle to be ­dominant – that is the whole problem.”
