West Ham ‘testing waters’ for Inter star

First up, West Ham have been credited with an interest in Inter Milan’s Alexis Sanchez.

Once one of the most feared attackers in the Premier League, Sanchez’s form began a downward spiral when he joined Manchester United in 2018.

The South American then eventually joined Inter on a free transfer in 2020 after a brief loan spell with the Italians.

Sanchez has since struggled for any sport of regular action with the Milan-based outfit, though he has still scored 11 and assisted 19 in 74 outings for the current Serie A champions.

Now though, with Sanchez 32 and still under contract until 2023, Sport Witness, citing reports from Italy, claim that Inter are working on the Chilean’s future.

They add that Inter are looking to get Sanchez off their books from January and that West Ham and Marseille are both ‘testing the waters’ ahead of a possible move.

McKennie & Johnstone linked

Elsewhere, West Ham have found themselves linked with a goalkeeper and a midfielder.

Firstly, the Sun report that both West Ham and Tottenham have pencilled in offers for Sam Johnstone if he leaves West Brom. The keeper’s contract runs out at the end of this season.

And the Sun have also reported that West Ham and Spurs have been actively scouting Juventus’ Weston McKennie and are weighing up whether to make bids in the January transfer window.
