Liverpool dealt blow as latest Diogo Jota update emerges

Diogo Jota injury update

An update on Liverpool and Portugal star Diogo Jota has emerged on Monday and it doesn’t sound too positive.

Jota is currently on international duty with Portugal. However, despite being a regular pick for Fernando Santos’ side usually, Jota would miss out on the matchday squad entirely when Portugal faced off with Qatar in a friendly meeting on Saturday, October 9th.

There has not been an awful lot of information regarding the Liverpool attacker since, though it was suggested that Jota had picked up a muscle injury.

Now, a fresh update on the situation has emerged thanks to injury analyst, Ben Dinnery.

Dinnery reported that Jota did not take part in an open training session on Monday as Portugal prepare for their World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg, adding that the Liverpool attacker has been struggling with a muscle issue.

Watford vs Liverpool

With still no official word on how long Jota could be out for with said injury, Liverpool fans are no doubt somewhat concerned that the former Wolves man could miss out vs Watford this weekend.

The Reds are set to face off with the Hornets in a Premier League clash in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off.

Liverpool head into the weekend’s action 2nd in the league and as the only side yet to lose a single PL tie this term. Watford, meanwhile, are down in 15th and have won just one in five.
