Tottenham to miss out? Wolves’ Adama Traore closing in on new contract
Traore linked with Tottenham
Nuno Espirito Santo would take over as Tottenham boss during the summer following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
The Portuguese had previously been at the helm of Wolves and, like a lot of managers often do, seemingly wanted to bring some of their old guard to their new club.
The player Nuno appeared to be eyeing from Wolves was Adama Traore, who the Portuguese had signed from Middlesbrough whilst Wolves boss.
The Daily Mail reported early in August that Nuno was keen to bring his former star man to North London.
However, during the final week of the window, Wolves are understood to have rejected a proposal from Spurs, insisting that Traore was not for sale:

Traore set for new Wolves deal
It was then suggested in early September that Wolves would consider selling Traore in the January transfer window, should the winger refuse to put pen to paper on a contract extension.
However, in a blow to Spurs, and any other potential suitors, it now looks as though Traore will indeed be signing a new deal in the near future.
The Daily Mail report that Traore is on the verge of signing a new deal worth nearly 100k-a-week, to make him one of Wolves’ best-paid players as they look to secure the Tottenham target’s long-term future.
They add that, in the summer window, Spurs were unwilling to meet Wolves’ asking price of about £50m for Traore.
