Tottenham reportedly target Pape Sarr’s Metz teammate

Tottenham and Metz firm friends

Tottenham Hotspur and Metz have already been in conversations since last summer, with the Lilywhites agreeing a deal to sign Pape Sarr in the transfer window, but with the 19-year-old midfielder having been loaned back to Metz for the 2021-22 campaign.

He has impressed too, playing in central midfield for the Ligue 1 outfit and registering 1 assist in nine outings in France’s top division, although he has been largely powerless to prevent his side’s slide towards the relegation zone.

With Tottenham desperately in need of some drive and power in central midfield, could Sarr be chucked straight in at the deep end next season?

However, it appears as though Sarr may not be the only man swapping Metz for north London in the near future, with the Sun reporting that Fabio Paratici and co. are keeping a close eye on their new boy’s teammate Boubacar Traore too.

Traore, also still raw at just 20-years-old, has been restricted largely to substitute appearances so far this season, and has so far made just 10 appearances for the Ligue 1 side across his fledgling career.

However, Spurs allegedly see a great deal of potential in the Mali midfielder, who could win his first international caps at the Africa Cup of Nations in January. Should he join the club, it would surely signal the end of Harry Wink’s Tottenham career.

Of course, Tottenham will have plenty of opportunities to scout the youngster this season as they keep an eye on their current acquisition, but could they ultimately move for both, with an eye to the future?
