Thomas Tuchel provides triple injury boost for Chelsea ahead of Malmo clash
Chelsea set for Malmo clash
Chelsea play host to Malmo tomorrow evening in the Champions League group stage. The Blues will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat suffered in Turin, which saw them lose 1-0 thanks to a goal from Federico Chiesa, while Tuchel’s side looked toothless in reply.
Now sitting in second place, level on points with Zenit but ahead of the Russians on head-to-head, Chelsea will be needing six points from the double header against the Swedish champions in order to feel confident about qualifying ahead of a trip to Russia and welcoming Juve to Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel reveals key trio fit but Pulisic still missing
Yesterday, Chelsea announced that Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger were both back in full training ahead of the midweek clash. However, their status for the Malmo tie was up in the air.

In his pre-match press conference, Tuchel revealed that the duo, and the returning Hakim Ziyech, were all ready to play against the Swedish side.

However, Chelsea are not completely injury free yet, with Christian Pulisic still sidelined with an injury that has seen him feature just once in the Premier League so far this season.

Discussing the injury, Tuchel said:
“He got injured in a match with the US, he took a tough foul & hurt his ankle. There’s nothing to worry about in terms of hiding details, but at the moment he has setbacks through pain. It’s not re-injury but pain that disturbs him”
Tuchel explains Pulisic’s current 40 day injury:”He got injured in a match with the US, he took a tough foul & hurt his ankle. There’s nothing to worry about in terms of hiding details, but at the moment he has setbacks through pain. It’s not re-injury but pain that disturbs him”

However, he did note that the USA star was “close” to a return, meaning that Chelsea may well be back to full strength imminently. For the time being, they should have enough firepower to blast past Malmo.
