Newcastle’s January transfer window budget revealed following takeover
Newcastle linked with countless players
You may not have heard yet as very little has been made of it, but Newcastle United now have new owners.
It was announced last week that the Magpies have been bought out by the SAPIF, PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media.
This now means that Newcastle United now have the richest owners in world football.
Obviously, this has led to countless players from around the globe already seeing themselves linked with a move to Newcastle despite the takeover, at the time of writing, being less than a week old.
Just some of the names rumoured to be interesting Newcastle have been FC Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho, PSG’s Mauro Icardi, Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey and Chelsea star, Timo Werner.

How much can Newcastle spend in January?
All of these links have come about with the expectation that Newcastle will spend big in the upcoming transfer window to avoid relegation and build towards their new future.
FFP was also not believed to be an issue for the time being either, with it previously suggested that the Magpies will be able to spend over £200m over the next three years, without breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
Now, an insight into Newcastle’s budget for January has been provided by the Telegraph.
The Telegraph also mentions that Newcastle are able to spend almost £200m under FFP. But they do also state that there is a desire to do things gradually, with a planned budget of just £50m set for the upcoming winter window.
