Guardiola provides update on key Man City duo ahead of Club Brugge tie
Club Brugge vs Man City
Manchester City are back in Champions League action on Tuesday evening, facing off with Belgian outfit Club Brugge at 5:45 pm UK time.
The Sky Blues head into the game having fallen to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of PSG in their last European outing.
Man City actually played pretty well against Lionel Messi and co., but as they came away with a loss, they now really need to ensure they pick up a win on Tuesday as Club Brugge are currently sat 2nd in Group A after winning one and drawing one of their opening two Champions League games.
Guardiola on Ederson & Jesus
So, Pep Guardiola is no doubt keen to have as strong a squad as possible available to him this week.
That would, of course, including Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, who missed out vs Burnley over the weekend after being a part of the Brazil squad that faced Uruguay at 1:30 am UK time this past Friday.
When speaking about the pair recently, though, Guardiola stated that they are already in Belgium and have told him they can play:
“They are in Belgium right now. I think they told me they can play, but we will see in which condition we have time to prepare a training session.
“Because we have to train here. They will not be here, so I have to think about it. We sent them there in Belgium because the day after Brugge they can come back and make a normal life. “If they had come back directly here to Manchester, they would have been isolated for 10 days in one hotel.
“We didn’t want that and that’s why they travelled to Belgium. Maybe they are able to play, that is the good news. “After that for Brighton, the Carabao Cup (fourth round trip to West Ham) and all the other games we have ahead of us and they will be ready.”
