Chelsea’s worrying Champions League record without N’Golo Kante highlighted ahead of Juventus
Chelsea’s worrying record in the Champions League without the services of N’Golo Kante has been highlighted recently.
Juventus vs Chelsea
Chelsea are in Champions League action later today, facing off with Juventus in an 8 pm UK time kick-off.
The Blues head into the game looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season, which they suffered at the hands of Manchester City at the weekend.
Thomas Tuchel and co., though, did pick up a win in their first Champions League match of the season earlier this month, seeing off Zenit.
They now face Juventus who, on paper, are Chelsea’s toughest opponents, but have actually had a poor start to the season overall.

Chelsea’s Champions League record without Kante
Ahead of the game, though, Chelsea would be dealt some rather concerning news.
As revealed on Tuesday, N’Golo Kante has recently tested positive for Covid-19 and is set to miss out vs both Juventus on Wednesday and then vs Southampton at the weekend:
With a 10 day isolation period, it puts N’Golo Kante out of the next two games.
It also makes him a major doubt for France’s Nations League semi-final match with Belgium. #CFC

Elsewhere, all of Reece James, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic are set to miss the tie through injury.
However, it does look as though Kante could prove to be the biggest miss for Chelsea, especially when you consider how poor the Londoners have been in the Champions League without him.
As reported by football.london, Kante has missed seven CL ties for Chelsea, with the Blues winning just two of those ties – a narrow win over Ajax and the 1-0 win over Zenit earlier this month.
