Hulu’s Newest Cancellation Exposes One of Streaming’s Most Frustrating Problems

It’s hard not to be angry about Deli Boys getting cancelled after only two seasons. After all, Hulu’s crime comedy was genuinely one of the funniest shows on TV. But it was also doing something we don’t see enough of in 2026 — putting Pakistani-American characters at the center of the story and letting them get buckwild. Asif Ali’s Mir and Saagar Shaikh’s Raj could get away with being spoiled brats or complete “lafangas” (Urdu for scoundrels), while Poorna Jagannathan’s Lucky Auntie could stab someone with one hand and shoot someone with the other. Nobody needed to be the perfect Brown character carrying the weight of an entire community.
