Christopher Judge Officially Addresses Fan Concerns About a Kratos-Free ‘God of War’ [Exclusive]
2026 is the year of blockbuster video game releases, from the arrival of 007: First Light as a genuine Game of the Year contender back in May to the long-awaited Marvel's Wolverine coming next month and, looming over them all in November, Grand Theft Auto VI. Between its controversies and innovations, the return of Rockstar's open world crime sandbox has unsurprisingly sucked up much of the oxygen in the room as what's expected to be one of the biggest media launches of all time. In June, however, PlayStation gave gamers another major title to look forward to next year with the announcement of God of War Laufey at its State of Play presentation. Set to release on February 16, it'll be the first title in the franchise not starring Kratos and instead expand the world through the eyes of his late wife, Faye, which opens the door for some unique storytelling opportunities.
