Henry Cavillhas played a suave secret agent in his time, as have Clive Owen and Idris Elba. Another actor from the same generation who has occasionally fueled 007 rumors is Tom Hardy, who played a CIA agent in a romantic comedy that also featured Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon. The movie is currently streaming on HBO Max, but not for much longer. The movie was released in 2012, when Daniel Craig was about halfway through his tenure as Bond, having starred in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall.
