2024's Overlooked Thriller From a Taylor Sheridan Director Finds Success on HBO Max

Mackenzie is also responsible for — besides Jack O'Connell's Starred Up and Chris Pine's Outlaw King — arguably the best movie thatTaylor Sheridan has ever written. Certainly, it's the top-rated movie on Sheridan's resumé, according to Rotten Tomatoes. The movie is Hell or High Water, the neo-Western that earned Sheridan a Best Original Screenplay nod at the Oscars. It currently holds a "Certified Fresh" 97% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. It should come as no surprise that Mackenzie's latest film was well-received by both critics and audiences.
