'Boston Blue' Recasts a Pivotal 'Blue Bloods' Role in Surprising Shake Up

The Reagan family has acquired a new member — just not in the way we were expecting. On the heels of Donnie Wahlberg’s announcement that table reads had begun for his Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue, it’s been revealed that his character’s son has been recast. When the CBS procedural arrives on screens this fall, Danny Reagan’s (Wahlberg) son, Sean, will be played by Mika Amonsen (Thanksgiving). Andrew Terraciano previously appeared as the child of Detective Danny Reagan during the original show’s 14-season run, but, according to Deadline, the creative team decided to go in a different direction for the next chapter. That different direction will see Sean following in the family's footsteps and seeking out a career in law enforcement.
