If You Love ‘Reacher,’ Check Out This "Dad TV" Crime Drama That Paved the Way for Alan Ritchson’s Hero

Reacherhas become one of the most popular action series on streaming, thanks in large part to Alan Ritchson’s pitch-perfect portrayal of Jack Reacher, a stoic, physically imposing hero with a strong moral code who isn’t afraid to solve problems with his fists. It’s the ultimate “Dad TV” show, a genre built around rugged, emotionally guarded men who deliver justice through sheer force of will in the most action-packed ways. But long before Jack Reacher was dishing out justice on TV, another brooding antihero was doing much the same, and paving the way for the genre’s current resurgence.
