A panel discussion on the possibilities of financing Ukrainian audiovisual content will be held within the European Film Market
During the European Film Market at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, a panel discussion “Moving on: Ways to (co-)fund Ukrainian Audiovisual Content” will be held. The joint event was organized with funding from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg as part of an initiative to support the Ukrainian film industry at the European Film Market.
The round table, which will take place on February 18, will be devoted to issues and options for financing Ukrainian audiovisual content, as well as the possibility of co-production of content and its co-financing.
The following speakers will take part in the event:
- Vincenzo Bugno, the head of the Berlinale’s World Cinema Fund
- Julie-Jeanne Régnault, EFAD General Secretary,
- Maryna Kuderchuk, head of the Ukrainian State Film Agency
- Anna Machukh, Co-founder and Executive Director of Ukrainian Film Academy, Managing Director of Odesa International Film Festival
- Olga Beskhmelnytsina, producer, Head of the Board of Ukrainian Film Academy
Moderator: Simone Baumann, Managing Director of German Films, the German film promotion agency.
The discussion will take place on February 18 from 12:00 to 13:00 at the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation.
Also during the Berlinale, Pitching of the Odesa International Film Festival will take place, which will be held as an associated event of the European Film Market.
Participation of Ukrainian productions at the Berlin Film Market is supported by USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP). Iniative is being implemented in cooperation with Goethe-Institut.
As part of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, the European Film Market will operate on February 16-22. The Ukrainian National Stand, organized by the joint efforts of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, the Film Industry Association of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Film Academy and with the financial support of German Films with the assistance of the European Film Market, will operate at the EFM. The catalog of Ukrainian production companies (Production Guide of Ukraine) and opportunities for cooperation with Ukraine in the field of cinema will be presented at the Ukrainian stand.
