Westworld Timeline Explained From Season 1 to Season 4
Westworld is a very dense and complicated tapestry of nonlinear storytelling. As showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy lead viewers into even more twists and turns, it’s helpful to keep track of how events actually play out chronologically. Lo and behold, feast your eyes on the complete Westworld timeline from start to finish, with all the show’s happenings to date. The season three premiere date announcement video confirms a few key dates in the show's chronology, most importantly the day that Rehoboam's system stops working: February 27th, 2058. This is the day Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) begins moving against Rehoboam in Season 3, which takes place three months after the collapse of Westworld as we now know. With this key date in place, we can use information given throughout the show to surmise the approximate place of where everything else on the timeline falls. The rough midpoint of the timeline, or "year zero" will be November 2057, which is when all the present day action from the first episode occurs-- or if it's easier to track, when we first meet The Man in Black (Ed Harris). With that in mind, let's start at the beginning.
