What Atalanta’s manager said to Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United comeback

Cristiano Ronald rescues Manchester United

Manchester United faced off with Serie A side Atalanta in a Champions League game on Tuesday.

It looked set to be another evening to forgot for Manchester United when they went behind not once, but twice on the day.

That was, however, until Cristiano Ronaldo once again stepped up to save Man United.

The Portuguese had already scored winning goals for the Red Devils vs Villarreal and in the other meeting with Atalanta last month.

And whilst he couldn’t secure a win on Tuesday, the point he saved was still huge for United.

The result leaves Man United joint-top of Group F and with Atalanta down in 3rd place needing to win their remaining two ties to ensure they make it to the knockout rounds.

Following the game on Tuesday, Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta’s manager, revealed what he said to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese completed United’s comeback:

“At the end of the match I spoke with Ronaldo, he’s an incredible player, some even call him a problem. That’s a nice problem to have, 9 out of 10 times his shots on target, 5 of them are goals. I told him: you know what we say in Italy? Go to Hell”

Though it could be perhaps perceived as angry comments, it was also pointed out that Gasperini said this in a joking manner:
