Scott McTominay included in Manchester United traveling squad to face Watford

McTominay available for weekend selection

Manchester United completed their preparations for a weekend trip south to London when they travel to Vicarage Road to clash with struggling Watford on Saturday and will be boosted by the presence of Scott McTominay according to the

MEN confirmed that the Scottish international was included in the traveling squad for Ole Gunnar Solskjær when United departed Manchester earlier this evening after the midfielder was forced to withdraw from international duty due to illness, which threw his involvement this weekend into doubt.

If deemed fit enough to travel, it can be assumed that McTominay will be among the XI selected for a run-out against Watford as United look to bag just their second win in their last six Premier League fixtures, given Solskjær’s preference to field the 24-year-old Scotsman after he has started the bulk of the matches that he has been available for.

Man United linked with the pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder

The concern surrounding the potential absence of McTominay serves as proof as to why Man United is eyeing up a possible summer recruit with the club now expected to lose Paul Pogba, who appears to be all but assured of an exit toward Real Madrid.

But reports surfaced in Spanish publication El Nacional linking the Red Devils with a potential move for Los Blancos midfielder Federico Valverde.

With Pogba looking likely to head off to the Spanish capital, Valverde’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu is hardly guaranteed after the club also purchased highly-touted France starlet Eduardo Camavinga from Stade Rennais in the summer.

Now, United are said to be considering a £59million (€70million) bid for the 23-year-old Uruguayan, which would bring in a valuable long-term replacement for the potentially departing Pogba and – more importantly – an upgrade in the quality on offer in the middle of the park at Old Trafford.
