Manchester United reach Paul Pogba decision ahead of January window

Pogba out until 2022

Paul Pogba began the season strongly, registering four assists on the opening day in the Red Devils’ 5-1 thrashing of Leeds United.

However, his form, like United’s has dropped off a cliff. The Frenchman most recently saw red against Liverpool for a horror tackle on Naby Keita, which meant he remains suspended from Premier League action. But, he will in fact be out for much longer.

While in training for his National Side, France, Pogba suffered a serious injury.

It was then thought that the Frenchman would miss the rest of 2021 with the issue, and he has since been sent to Dubai in order to recover, suggesting he will not be back with the Red Devils any time soon.

With options in midfield short for the Red Devils, they will be hoping that Pogba can recover sooner than forecast as they look to turn around a car-crash season to date, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thought to be set to remain at the club until the summer.

Manchester United reach decision on Frenchman’s future

One man who may not make it to the end of the season, however, is Pogba himself.

The France star is out of contract in the summer and, according to Spanish outlet Marca, Manchester United have no longer got any interest in offering their record-signing a new deal.

With this in mind, January would represent the final opportunity for United to recoup any sort of fee for Pogba, with PSG and Real Madrid both interested in the past.

Will United look to part ways with Pogba come the winter, or have they resigned themselves to a huge financial loss?
