How much Manchester United will have to pay to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s run come to an end

A 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road was seemingly a step too far for the Manchester United hierarchy, who have decided to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a torrid run of results.

The Red Devils have taken just 4 from a possible 21 points, and have suffered serious embarrassment at the hands of both Manchester City and Liverpool at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen just who will take permanent charge of the club after the departure of the Norwegian, with Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher expected to take caretaker charge for their midweek Champions League fixture, and potentially the Chelsea clash next Sunday.

Ole’s impressive severance package revealed

Of course, Manchester United handed their now departing manager a new contract in the summer, The former club legend was tied down to a new 3 year deal, something that looks a little premature now.

The consequence, of course, is that to sack Solskjaer, they will have to pay him to leave, which amounts to a hefty sum.

The total amount? As per The Sun, the club will have to fork out a year’s salary, equating to some 7.5 million pounds, in order to move on from their club legend.

It will, however, save them a whole host of pain.
