Chelsea handed boost as Brendan Rodgers confirms how long Leicester's Youri Tielemans will be out for ahead of their clash.

Chelsea head to the King Power

Chelsea kick off the Premier League resumption after the international break with a lunchtime trip to the King Power Stadium to take on a struggling Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime.

Thomas Tuchel’s European champions currently sit atop the Premier League pile, three points clear of both Manchester City and West Ham United, and having conceded just four goals all season. They are certainly among the title favourites, having already played 4 of the traditional top 6, and on early form seem the team to beat.

Brendan Rodgers’ side, by contrast, are having a hard time of it, sitting 12th in the Premier League heading into the clash. They have been struck by a myriad of injuries, and speculation surrounding the future of Rodgers continues to flow, with Manchester United the latest side to register an interest in him according to reports.

Those issues are not quite over, either.

Tielemans ruled out of clash

Chelsea fans will not have fond memories of Youri Tielemans. The Belgian midfielder scored what proved to be the winner in the FA Cup final last season as Leicester downed Chelsea by a 1-0 scoreline, and is a key cog in Brendan Rodgers’ side, forming a strong trio with Wilfried Ndidi and James Maddison.

However, this Saturday’s clash with the Blues will come too soon for the Belgian, Rodgers confirmed, revealing in his pre-match press conference that his star man will be out of action “for a few weeks” still.

Does this news hand Chelsea the initiative?
