Boxing great Tyson Fury sends message to Manchester United squad after derby day humiliation

Tyson Fury watches on as Manchester United continue to stall

Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury was one of the 80,000 or so inside Old Trafford to watch Manchester United get schooled by their cross-city rivals on the way to a 2-0 defeat, which leaves them 9 points off the early running in the title race.

The self-proclaimed “Gypsy King” had to endure 90 minutes of torture as his beloved Manchester United side fell to a 2-0 defeat, a scoreline that flattered them massively, and placed further increasing pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. An own goal from Eric Bailly and a tap in from Bernardo Silva on the stroke of half time was enough to give Pep Guardiola’s side all three points.

The result leaves Manchester Unites having lost 4 times in their opening 11 games, while only last minutes goals from Cristiano Ronaldo in three Champions League games sees them top the group. Something is very wrong at Old Trafford.

Fury threatens to come down to training

Now, speaking to Sky Sports, Fury has given his take on what is going so badly wrong with his beloved Red Devils, saying:

“It doesn’t seem to me like you’re digging deep to try and win these games, it just seems to me like you’re happy to get through them and whatever happens, happens.”

He went on to question their winners mentality, before claiming:

“Me and Patrice Evra are going to come down to training and give you some of that”

With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane in the Manchester United squad, a winning mentality should not be a problem. But is it? And is it the only problem?
