As Lampard rules himself out of running, fresh name offered Norwich job
Lampard out of Norwich race
Norwich would part ways with long-time boss Daniel Farke earlier this month.
The German had guided Norwich to two successive promotions to the Premier League, but looked on course for a second-straight relegation from the English top-flight as well.
Farke would pick up a win against Brentford just hours before he was sacked by Norwich. However, this was only the Canaries’ first win of the Premier League campaign and would leave them still sat dead bottom of the table.
Norwich have amassed just five points from 11 league games so far this campaign. They are also the lowest scorers in the league with five and have the worst defensive record – shipping 26.
So, whoever takes the job is facing a huge task that is likely already domed for failure.
One man who will not be taking up such task is Frank Lampard, who ruled himself out of the running for the job recently:

Dean Smith offered Norwich job
Now though, a new name has been offered the job and seemingly looks set to take it.
The Athletic report that Dean Smith, who was sacked by Aston Villa earlier this month, was offered the job on Friday evening.
It is added that Norwich expect to announce the appointment within 48 hours:
Dean Smith has been offered the job as Norwich City head coach.
He was offered it last night. Craig Shakespeare would be his No2.
Norwich expecting to announce it all within the next 48hrs.
