As Al Saad confirm Xavi is set to take charge of Barcelona, Spaniard’s first three requests revealed

Xavi is Barcelona bound

After a poor start to the 2021/22 season in both La Liga and the Champions League, FC Barcelona would sack Ronald Koeman last week.

And now, just over a week after Koeman was sacked, Barcelona have found a new boss in the form of former player, Xavi Hernandez.

Xavi was managing in Qatar at Al Sadd SC. However, the club have now confirmed on Friday morning that they have agreed to let Barcelona appoint Xavi following the payment of the release clause in his contract:

The #AlSadd administration has agreed on Xavi’s move to Barcelona after the payment of the release clause stipulated in the contract. We’ve agreed on cooperation with Barcelona in the future. Xavi is an important part of Al-Sadd’s history and we wish him success.

Xavi informed us a few days ago of his desire to go to Barcelona at this particular time, because of the critical stage his hometown club is going through, and we understand this and decided not to stand in his way.

Xavi’s first three request

With Xavi set to take over at the Camp Nou, an insight into the demands of the ex-midfielder have been provided.

Reports from Spain have revealed what the first three requests Xavi has made to Barcelona are.

The first of these is that Xavi be allowed to continue with his trusted staff that he is currently working with at Al Sadd.

Xavi is then said to want to revamp the Barcelona medical team, which would include the return of Dr Ricard Pruna.

And finally, the Spaniard is said to want the club to sign a natural out-and-out winger in January.
