Steve Bruce set to be replaced as Newcastle United boss with former Chelsea duo frontrunners
Newcastle set to be taken over
Athough it is yet to be confirmed at time of writing, Newcastle are expected to be taken over by a Saudi Arabia consortium in the coming hours according to reports.
Saudi-led takeover of Newcastle is imminent. Some detail in here about the catalyst for the breakthrough – a key piracy issue has been resolved amid PL claims the new owners, PIF, have proved they are not a state-run entity. Story: https://t.co/csNdFt5NB8

This would mark the end of a 14 year tenure of chronically unpopular owner Mike Ashley, who has drawn much of the life, soul, and competitiveness out of the Tyneside club with his frugal spending and questionable marketing decisions.
One man who is set to be hit hard by the change in ownership, however, is manager Steve Bruce. The Englishman is expected to be relieved of his duties, although when that happens is another matter, with the new owners not looking to make rash decisions.
Expecting Newcastle United’s new owners to replace Steve Bruce as manager – but whether he’s in charge against Spurs in ten days time is still uncertain. The consortium don’t want to make knee-jerk reactions but a change is almost certain #NUFC

Two former Chelsea bosses favourites to take over
In Bruce’s stead, two former Chelsea managers have shot to the front of the running to replace him in the Newcastle hotseat. As per Football.London, both Frank Lampard and Antonio Conte are among the favourites for the job should the takeover of the club be completed.
Two former #CFC bosses have been linked with Newcastle job with the expected Saudi takeover but who would be the better fit, Antonio Conte or Frank Lampard? Two VERY different managers. https://t.co/obBkkvRZ6S

Would either man be right for the job, and would they take on such a challenge?
It remains to be seen.
