Real Madrid President Florentino Perez provides Kylian Mbappe update

Mbappe wants out of PSG

French superstar Kylian Mbappe has been brilliant during his four campaigns for Paris Saint Germain, netting an impressive 136 goals in 182 appearances for the Parisians, but made no secret of his desire to depart the French champions for Real Madrid last summer.

The 22 year old was subject of two bids from the Spanish giants, both of which were rebuffed by the French Champions. However, in an interview with L’Equipe earlier this week, he re-iterated his desire to leave, saying:

“Before the Euros, I told Paris Saint-Germain that I didn’t want to renew, and after the Euros I said I wanted to leave. My ambition was really for everyone to move forward hand in hand, the selling club, the buying club and me”

With just 10 months left on his contract in France, it remains to be seen whether he will walk away for free in the summer, or renew with Paris Saint Germain.

Florentino Perez provides update on the situation

Now, from the opposite camp, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has provided an update on the situation, telling El Debate that:

“In January we will have news about Mbappé. We hope that by January 1st, the Kylian Mbappé situation will be fully resolved”

Reading between the lines, it seems as though a bid in January will satisfy all parties as much as is possible, with PSG receiving a fee for their star man, Mbappe joining the club of his dreams and Real Madrid finally landing their man.
