Newcastle United offer clue that Steve Bruce will still be in the dugout for Tottenham clash
Newcastle takeover puts Steve Bruce’s future in doubt
Last week, many Newcastle fans’ dreams were made a reality when Mike Ashley’s 14-year reign in charge of the Tyneside club came to an end, and the Saudi Public Investment Fund took the reigns, backed with a hefty budget.
🤝 An investment group led by the Public Investment Fund, and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, has completed the acquisition of 100% of Newcastle United Limited and Newcastle United Football Club Limited from St. James Holdings Limited.

Now backed by the richest owners in World football, but sitting in the relegation zone without a win, the Magpies are sure to be spending money in January in order to avoid a somewhat humiliating relegation to England’s second tier.
In addition, they seem set to part ways with current boss Steve Bruce expected to be sacked in the not too distant future.
Hint that Bruce will be in the technical area against Tottenham
While it was expected that Bruce would depart St James’ Park ahead of the Magpies’ clash with Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, that now appears to be less likely.
As per Fabrizio Romano and others, Steve Bruce has been pencilled in to take the pre-match press conference, set to take place on Friday afternoon. Romano notes that while the club are “working to appoint a new manager”, the club are not rushing it, and “want to be 100% sure on a candidate before sacking Bruce”.
