Mikel Arteta sends warning to Arsenal stars after upturn in form

Arsenal bounce back

Arsenal would head into the September international break on a simply awful run of form.

The Gunners lost their opening three league games of the season, conceding nine goals and not scoring once.

However, as we prepare for the October break, Mikel Arteta and co. are in a much more solid position.

The north Londoners’ first game after the break saw them pick up a 1-0 win over Norwich. This was followed by a 1-0 win over Burnley and a 3-0 hammering of AFC Wimbledon in the League Cup.

Arsenal then picked up a dominant 3-1 win over rivals Tottenham in the league, before then being held to a 0-0 draw by Brighton this past weekend.

Arteta’s warning to Arsenal stars

Said run means that Arsenal are now 11th in the Premier League and just four points adrift of the top-four currently.

However, despite a big upturn in form, Mikel Arteta has sent a warning to his side.

The Spaniard stated that Arsenal need to improve individually and collectively and also prepare well because a ‘rollercoaster’ is coming with the amount of games they will need to play:

“We will analyse what we have done. The last month we have had four wins and one draw in all competitions, we conceded one goal.

“We have to improve individually and collectively and prepare well because a rollercoaster is coming with the amount of games.

“I’m never happy with a point, but I don’t think we deserved anything more than that.

“We got a point because we defended really well in the last 15 or 20 metres of the pitch, and for the rest I think it was a game that we have to improve and do better in many other areas.”
